If you shop at any of our sponsors, please let them know that you read about them here, or at the rally. It would be great if they all knew that their investment in our rally has produced some customers.
Here is the rough itinerary:
Thurs, July 22: Camping (and drinking) begins. There is no extra charge for showing up early. Many will already be there, but most will arrive Friday.
Friday, July 23: check-in, drinking. Check in at the front gate for your patch, goodies and whatever we decide to hand out at the gate.
Saturday, July 24:
- Breakfast: supplied by the DBSC, included with your entry fee. The local legion chapter is supply breakfast at legion. It will be available between 8:30 and 11:30. Here is a map to the legion. Legions and their halls deserve our respect, please remove your hats before entering the building, and (if one is present), sign the register when entering.
- Ride out to the St. Thomas Dragway #1: for test & tune and bracket racing. Bring an extra $20 if you want to run the dragstrip (this is the fee charged by the dragway). There will be ample time to make a few test&tune runs in order to dial in your quarter mile time. If you are racing, you should take this ride out to the drag strip. Spectators can wait for the later run.
- Ride out to the St. Thomas Dragway #2: If you are just watching the races, sleep in, or dont need any practice runs, take this ride-out. If you are just watching, bring $10. The Drag strip charges this fee for spectators to cover insurance and stuff. There is a concession stand at the track with drinks, burgers and fries at reasonable prices.
- For those who are not interested in racing or watching the races, there is a lovely beach at the camp site (please leave your trucks on shore), and all the attractions of Port Burwell within walking distance. Bring swim gear, boats, whatever you like.
- Following the ride back to Port Burwell, there will be more drinking, games, football (the kind with the round checked ball, like those nutty Europeans do it), Music and fire.
- There may also be a pool wagering on the time at which Trevor finds a soccer ball & invents the game of scooter polo. Other pools will doubtlessly be taken on the winner of the worlds first scooter polo game.
- Dinner! Another free meal courtesy of the DBSC! Provided by the Port Dover Legion Hall again, but this time, they will be bringing it to us.
- Prizes!! valuable prizes for the best & fastest of each class, and whatever else we can think of.
- Drinking.
- If Vic remembers his toboggan, there will doubtlessly be sled rids down the cliff & into the lake as well.
Sunday, July 25:
Here is a map to the site,
And another to the Dragstrip.
Here is a loose guide to drag racing
Also, Port Burwell has a Liquor store, it is open 9:30 - 18:00 Friday and Saturday. Get your Beer, booze, wine and ice here.
If you cant decide what to get, please consider one of the great beers from Mill St Breweries, who are gracious past sponsors of this rally. (Tankhouse. 'nuff said)
For everyone safety, Please bring your drinks in cans.
